Is ‘Saturday Night Live’ new tonight? (22/10/22)

STATEN ISLAND, NY — After three consecutive live episodes, “Saturday Night Live” is taking a brief hiatus this week.

“SNL” kicked off its 48th season on Oct. 1 with actor Miles Teller taking on hosting duties and Kendrick Lamar as musical guest.

On October 8, Brendan Gleeson hosted the show with musical guest Willow. Megan Thee Stallion was named host and musical guest on October 15.

Although the long-running variety sketch show is going on hiatus this week, it has already locked in next week’s host and musical guest: Jack Harlow. Harlow is a rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer known for hits like “First Class”, “Whats Poppin” and “Dua Lipa”.

That’s right, “SNL” fans are getting two episodes in a row from a duplicating musician.

Not only that, but the October 29 show is the famous Halloween episode. Previous Halloween episodes have spawned popular characters like David S. Pumpkins (whom actor Tom Hanks originated); digital shorts like “A Girl’s Halloween“, and sketches like”Vincent Price Halloween Special.”

And who could forget Dan Aykroyd’s famous ad for the Bat-O-Matic, a blender that quickly mixes all the ingredients needed for a witch’s potion, including a whole bat.

You can watch the 48th season of “Saturday Night Live” on NBC.

If you’re a cable cutter or don’t have cable, you can live stream “SNL” on Fubo TV on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service. Both offer free trials.

BTW: If you didn’t know, are you living under a rock? — fellow Staten Islander Colin Jost is the longtime co-anchor of “Weekend Update.” Jost has been on the desk since 2014 and with the show since 2005.
