Rising Nigerian artist, Confidence Okorie, better known as Coblaze, has revealed that the success story of award-winning singer, Wizkid has inspired his music career.

Wizkid debuted in the Nigerian music industry in 2011 and became a household name around the world.

Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the Grammy winner has won several accolades in Nigeria and internationally.

But speaking about his musical journey while updating reporters on his recently released summer anthem, “Good Girl,” Coblaze said he was inspired by Wizkid’s early hit.

“My musical foundation was built in church, where I learned the most, and how to play piano and drums professionally.

However, my career in professional art culminated in 2010 after the successful debut of Wizkid, which motivated me to choose a full-time career in music,” the artist said.

The Abia state-born singer also said his mastery of musical instruments has also helped his growth in the entertainment industry.

“My prowess in musical instruments and digital production has also helped me navigate through various melodies and tempos as a music producer,” Coblaze said.

On his recently released summer anthem, the musician noted that “Good Girl” is the lead single from his upcoming EP.

“The melodious mid-tempo tune about a nice girl who knows when to be mean will get your body moving from the first second of the song.

“I feel really good with the song and can’t wait to see everyone’s reaction when they press play. They would feel the buzz from the first seconds of playing. This for me will be satisfying; like really satisfying,” did he declare.

Coblaze landed a record deal with PG Records in 2021, along with Guchi, and later released “Come”, a self-produced song.
