Fun first friday
On the first Friday, a “Hall of Fame Party†with live music begins at 5:00 pm on August 6 at Jerzee’s Cafe at Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton.
Performers include Saxy Rob, Swagg, and Trailer Park Ninjas.
Jerzee’s Cafe is located at 330 Court Ave. NW. Centennial Plaza is located on Market Avenue N between Third and Fourth Streets NW.
The Canton Palace Theater will present the Cleveland Browns themed film, “Draft Day” at 7:30 pm
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $ 2 for the PG-13 movie starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner. The film was released in 2014.
Also on the first Friday, BZTAT Studios, located in the Vital Arts Gallery at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW, will present BZTAT’s “Blue Cat Group†mural, with the option to take a selfie.
New paintings from BZTAT’s “Urban Wildlife” series will also be on display.
Vital Arts also presents “Perspective” by artist Ashley Palmer, an exhibition exploring the multidimensionality of human experience.
Open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Vital Arts also features new “selfie art installations†created by artists Makaila Davenport, David Sherrill, Joanne Schempp, BZ Tat, Stephen Tornero and artists from the Just Imagine Gift Gallery.
Boomdyada, 332 4th St. NW, will have Make-n-Take-Aquatic Eco-System necklaces for sale.
For the first time in 18 months, The Auricle, 201 Cleveland Ave. NW, resumes its “First Friday Dance Night”.
The bar opens at 6 p.m. and dances at 11 p.m.
‘In the woods’
“Into the Woods†will premiere at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the North Canton Playhouse.
A Sunday performance is at 2:30 p.m. at the theater at 525 Seventh St. NE.
Tickets (18 and over) are $ 20 and (17 and under) are $ 15.
Other performances will take place at 8 p.m. on August 13 and 14 and at 2:30 p.m. on August 8 and 15.
The production will be directed by Delorna Toy and performed on the renovated main stage of the theater.

The story follows a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Day; and Jack, who wants his cow to give milk, said the North Canton Playhouse in a press release.
When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have children due to a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse.
Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions come back to haunt them later with disastrous results.
Meet the “Flash Gordon” actor
Happy Pappy’s Action Figure Extravaganza will host the actor who played Flash Gordon on Friday for a fan meet.
Sam J. Jones, who played the comic book hero in the 1980 movie “Flash Gordon”, will be at the store from 5 to 9 p.m. at 135 6th St. NW in downtown Canton in conjunction with the events. from the first Friday.
Jones will take photos with fans and sign autographs.
Side street MKTS
The outdoor Sidestreet MKTS will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oakwood Square in the Township of Plain.
Oakwood Square is at 2610 Easton St. NE.
Outdoor shops and food trucks will be in the spotlight, as well as live music. Drinks, coffee, beer and baked goods will be available for purchase.
Vendors will include those who sell jewelry, crafts, leather goods, and pottery
Star Watch
The Wilderness Center is hosting a “Star Watch” event from 9:30 am to 11:30 pm Friday.
The Wilderness Center is located at 9877 Alabama Ave. SW in the southwest corner of Stark County in Sugarcreek Township.
The astronomy club’s telescopes will be used to observe the night sky while pointing at the constellations. “Star stories†will also be told.
The event will be canceled due to cloudy conditions.
