Gourmet and flavored Greek olive oils have won top awards and positions in multiple categories, according to Evoo 2021 global ranking results (EVOOWR 2021) which were announced Thursday.
EVOOWR tested 16,584 olive oil samples from 37 countries and 2,105 companies, which had already been recognized in 29 international competitions.
Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms received the top five awards in the Top 5 Flavored Oils of the Year 2021, setting five new records.
Nine other gourmet oils from the farm were ranked in the Global Top 25 and in the Best Flavored Oils of the Year 2021 categories.
The company also finished second in the 2021 World’s Top 25 Flavor Oil Companies category, for a third consecutive year.
Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms was also ranked among the top 20 olive oil companies in the world, out of 2,105 of these companies from 37 countries.
The EVOOWR ranking is part of the world ranking of the WAWWJ (World Association of Journalists and Writers of Wine, Liquors and Others).
Organic Farms owner George Sakellaropoulos said that with EVOOWR’s 30 accolades, the company is now claiming the unique total of 400 international awards in global competitions.
“This is a world record of distinctions for a Greek producer who grows, produces and packages exclusively his own products based on organic olive oil (organic producer Single Estate & Terroir)”, he said declared.
He added that it is an honor for Sparta in the Peloponnese and for Greece in general.
