There is no need to fill HER about “Schoolhouse Rock!” … because not only has she heard about the iconic series, but she’s also helped the Obamas make it better with their new Netflix animated series.
The 4-time Grammy-winning singer joins us Monday on “TMZ Live” to let us know how the executive producers Barack and Michelle obama embarked her on “We the People”. Here’s a hint: there was no arm twist.
The series includes approximately 3-minute episodes that teach viewers about different aspects of American civic and political education – and they center on original songs by HER, Janelle Monae, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Baby Rexha and others.
Now, to older heads, this is going to sound very familiar … kinda like the popular ABC series, “Schoolhouse Rock!”, From the 70s and 80s. You know, “I’m Just a Bill” was a jam!
Well, HER says “We The People” differs in a big way – he’s established hitmakers, like her, who she says will immediately appeal to younger audiences and help them connect with the message. Let’s just call it better learning through better music.
HER hopes the songs from the Netflix series continue like those from “Schoolhouse Rock!” … and help young people to invest more in the political future of the country.
After all, THEY are the people.
