Knocking on JLR’s Doors: When Ratan Tata bumped into Guns N’ Roses guitar legend Slash, Velvet Revolver fame | Photo credit: Twitter
What do Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata and Guns N’ Roses legend Saul Hudson aka “Slash” have in common? It’s a streetcar named Jaguar. Well to be precise, Tata owns Jaguar Land Rover while Slash happens to be a patron. The duo met at Galpin Jaguar, a JLR dealership in California, USA, when the GNR guitarist was taking delivery of the Jaguar XKR.
Tata told on Friday how he once bumped into the ‘very polite rockstar’ while visiting Galpin Jaguar one fine day.
“The day I visited Galpin Jaguar on one of my retail visits, I was delighted to meet this gentleman from Guns N’ Roses taking delivery of his new Jaguar XKR. A very polite, Slash,” Tata wrote and posted a selfie of himself with the musician.
Hudson, 57, better known as Slash, is a British-American musician, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as the lead guitarist for the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, with whom he enjoyed worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Slash received critical acclaim and is considered as one of the greatest guitarists in history.
