TWO Britpop legends and one of the original pioneers of the rave scene are set to perform at a charity concert in Northwich in the spring.
Local charity Tiny Steps will bring the big names to town again when they host their ‘Disco Down’ event at Memorial Court on Friday March 4th.
The evening will feature Rick Witter and Paul Banks of the hugely popular group Shed Seven, performing an intimate acoustic set.
The duo will be joined on the bill by record producer and musician ‘A Guy Called Gerald’ who, in addition to being an early member of 808 State, created the classical dance anthem ‘Voodoo Ray’. .

Clint Boon, a regular supporter of Tiny Steps concerts in the city, will also be on hand for a DJ set and will be joined by Scott Burstow, the event’s organizer.
Scott said of the night ahead: “We had been planning this night for about six to eight months now but couldn’t announce it because we had so many other nights to sell that had moved due to Covid, but there is no doubt that it is going to be the biggest to date.
“Rick Witter has supported us before and has been so lucky he wants to help.
“Shed Seven has just completed a three month sold-out tour so we feel blessed that Rick and Paul are coming to Northwich.
“We have tried to cater for the lineup so that it pleases many people with Clint Boon DJ-ing for us again and A Guy Called Gerald also supporting us for the first time and DJ-ing.â€
Scott is confident that the already impressive line-up will be further enhanced by the announcement of even more acts very soon.
“Again, these will be artists who have never performed for Tiny Steps before, so something new,†he added.
“The tickets went on sale on New Years Day and we already have people coming from Glasgow to Dover.
“We really hope the city comes – Tiny Steps Nights are always magical, sell out and give the local community something to look forward to.”
Tickets for the event are £ 27.50 with all proceeds going to the charity.
