LeinaDaniels is a gospel artist and songwriter. In this interview with ADAMU ABUH, he shares his experiences and challenges in the industry.
What does gospel music mean to you?
It is a movement whose mandate is to reveal Jesus Christ as God, as well as to spread his message of hope through music for the redemption of souls.
How would you rate the contribution of gender to the economy?
The film and music recording industry topped 2020 forecast by $ 806 million in revenue, contributing around 730 billion naira ($ 1.8 billion) to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) . The feat cannot be attributed solely to secular music. Gospel music has also helped elevate the country, creating jobs, entertaining people, and spreading a message of truth and hope.
How do you deal with the distraction of female fans?
I would like to say that as ministers of the gospel; our mandate is not only to entertain, but also to preach the gospel to everyone, men and women. While we have read or seen many instances where people fall into temptation, my main key is to create scriptural standards and back them up with personal decisions that will serve as a guide. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can deal with any form of distraction.
What are your challenges in the industry?
Personally, I think it’s more of a prayer point. May God raise up more men and women who will sponsor the work of God through the ministry of worship. We need more gospel labels. There are many anointed and gifted ministers who go unheard and have been blessed with much to share in their hearts. We are one body in Jesus Christ, but somehow we allowed the denomination and the doctrine to divide us and that was a barrier that really affected the oneness, the flow. and growth among ministers of gospel music. Some ministers of the gospel have powerful songs, but do not produce them correctly. We are in the 21st century where excellence is a necessity; we really need to update / improve the quality of the music produced.
What is your advice to those who intend to become gospel artists?
First of all I would like to say quickly that we are in the last days and not only that it is a season for the manifestations of the sons of God and it will be a great privilege and an opportunity to be a part of this great movement for the kingdom of God.
What are your regrets in the job, would you like to be able to change?
I have no regrets, because nothing is too big for God to handle. Yes, there may be challenges, but with God’s help we overcome, for there is no regret in God’s work.
